NJSDA Perth Amboy Board of Education Perth Amboy High School
The new Perth Amboy High School relieves the overcrowding that has been plaguing the City for many years, with the prospect of more new students on the horizon, due in large part to the many housing developments that are in various phases of completion throughout the City. The Perth Amboy Board of Education partnered with the New Jersey Schools Development Authority to develop a solution, utilizing the Design-Build method to construct the new school complex, with RSC Architects serving as the Architectural Design Consultant and the leader of the Design-Builder’s design team.
The new, three-story, 576,000 s.f. Perth Amboy High School was constructed on an 11.63-acre property on Convery Boulevard in order to provide educational and instructional spaces for 3,300 students within grades nine through twelve.
This site also contains outdoor recreational areas, an artificial turf athletic field, sidewalks, and parking areas. It is also sustainably-designed, and has received LEED Silver certification.
