RSC Architects performed alteration work within 5,000 s.f. of vacant space in University Hospital’s Cancer Center in order to provide a new Siemens Magneton Vida 3T MRI scanner and a Siemens Biograph Vision 450 Edge PET/CT scanner.
The MRI area of the suite provides newly-renovated dressing rooms for patients to be screened in and wait ahead of their scan, as well as a dedicated control room, vestibule, resuscitation area, and equipment room, all of which conform to the MRI 4 safety zones.
The PET/CT space has a dedicated control room, equipment room, clean storage, hot laboratory, hot toilet, hot waste storage, and two uptake and cool down quiet rooms. New finishes; millwork; and color-changing, starlight lighting on the ceiling round out RSC’s renovation work, along with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression system upgrades to support the new suite.
