Designed by RSC Architects, the 32,500 s.f., new state-of-the-art Secaucus Recreation Center includes weight training and fitness machines, an aerobics studio, a member’s lounge to relax in before and after a workout, and a multi-purpose gymnasium with a full-length basketball court and an elevated three-lane running track. One of the highlights of the facility is its Olympic-size swimming pool. Complete with an observation deck, the pool is a hybrid design that can be used by the community for swim meets, as well as for recreational uses.

The center’s exterior materials include red ground face block and a translucent curtain wall system to refract the light and fill the interior space with evenly-diffused daylight. This design feature also helps to prevent harsh glare and reduce peak-time electric lighting costs.
