RSC Architects converted approximately 7,500 s.f. of Hackensack Meridian Health’s Palisades Medical Center financial department into an adult and pediatric rehabilitation program, combining the network’s three existing rehabilitation programs into one facility.
This new center consists of seven speech therapy rooms; four occupational therapy spaces; three physical therapy areas; two separate waiting rooms for adult and pediatric patients, inclusive of a play area; and support spaces. The adult rehabilitation program includes thirteen physical therapy treatment bays, two private evaluation rooms, and an open gymnasium.
RSC designed and configured the various programmatic spaces in a manner that maintained the departments’ existing operations and ensured two means of egress during and after the construction was complete.
This new multi-disciplinary rehabilitation center now provides ease of access for the community, enhanced workflow efficiencies, and improved operational oversight.
