The Dayton Avenue Educational Campus is the culminating project of the Passaic Board of Education’s long-term planning in order to improve their school facilities.
The New Jersey Schools Development Authority utilized the Design-Build method to construct this new complex, with RSC Architects serving as the Architectural Design Consultant and the leader of the Design-Builder’s design team.
This new, four-story, 448,000 s.f. school complex houses 420 pre-kindergarten students within its Early Childhood Center, 770 kindergarten through eighth grade students within its Elementary School, 760 second through eighth grade students within its Magnet School, and 810 sixth through eighth grade students within its Middle School. Although its layout provides separate entrances for each school, the complex’s food service, custodial, and mechanical systems are centralized.
This 12.32-acre site also contains outdoor recreational areas, an artificial turf athletic field, sidewalks, and parking areas, as well as rehabilitated and reconstructed pedestrian and vehicular bridges that span the Weasel Brook Channel.
