After sustaining their school facilities for fifty years without any upgrades, the community of Englewood passed a referendum for $46 million in order to improve and reorganize their school district.
Most notably, the District received a new first through third grade facility, a new fourth through sixth grade facility at the existing Dr. Leroy McCloud School, and a new pre-kindergarten facility at the Donald A. Quarles Early Childhood Center. In order to further maximize the District’s improvements, two additions were also constructed. All of the District’s schools were renovated, with the work ranging from new art and music rooms to computer laboratories, science laboratories, a dance studio, locker replacements, and mechanical system/ADA upgrades.
The Winton White Stadium, which serves the high school, also received renovations, along with the addition of a soccer field and an illuminated basketball court. RSC Architects provided architectural design services, as well as facilities programming, interior and site designs, and construction administration services.
