RSC Architects was commissioned to design an addition to the former Cleveland Elementary School, which was renamed the Dr. Leroy McCloud Elementary School, as well as to design the interior renovations to the original school. This 32,544 s.f., two-story addition features new classrooms, art and music rooms, a science laboratory, a gymnatorium, and a state-of-the-art media center. A new lobby and security station are flanked by administrative offices and an elevator to the second floor. The new addition also contains support rooms and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and data cabling requirements. Additionally, a playground area was created off of the rear corner of the addition.

The renovation work that was performed on the existing 50,861 s.f. masonry building involved the conversion of the old gymnasium into a cafeteria with a full-service kitchen, ventilation upgrades within the various classrooms, toilet room renovations, and masonry repairs.
