With the goal of improving patient satisfaction and enhancing the functionality of their facility, Englewood Health looked to RSC Architects to upgrade their medical/surgical nursing unit at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
Over the course of three phases, RSC reconfigured 21,000 s.f. of the 6 Dean Nursing Unit into twenty-three semi-private medical/surgical patient rooms and two private isolation rooms, as well as 13,00 s.f. of the 3 Northwest Nursing Unit’s existing double-occupancy patient rooms into twenty private patient rooms.
The 3 Center Nursing Unit wing was also completely re-designed to incorporate ten private patient rooms, with special features, fixtures, and finishes included so that the hospital could use this space as a temporary Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit while the existing one was being renovated.
Other upgraded spaces throughout the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center included waiting areas, centralized and satellite nurse’s stations, offices, staff lounges, patient lounges, utility rooms, and staff support spaces.
