This new 36,500 s.f. facility that was designed by RSC Architects includes two outdoor pools, numerous building structures, a basketball court, and a parking lot that spans over a 1.5-acre site. The two pools include a kidney-shaped activity pool with water play equipment and a varying depth up to four feet, as well as an eight-lane lap pool with a maximum depth of nine feet.
The front of the complex along Van Horne Street is graced by two one-story buildings that are linked by a large, open-air, ornamental entrance canopy. One building functions as a 2,600 s.f. bath house with toilets, showers, lockers, and changing facilities, while the other building houses administrative offices, a first aid post, a pump room, mechanical rooms, and storage. Across the expansive concrete deck and flanked by colorful shade sails is a 1,400 s.f. concessions building with a walk-up snack bar.
A full-length basketball court with a bright blue and yellow rubberized play surface is located adjacent to the pool area. Decorative landscaping, site lighting, and a tall ornate gate that encircles the entire facility lend an exquisite touch to this urban oasis.
