While the Borough of Cliffside Park recognized the need for a new Department of Public Works facility that could better serve its residents, its design needed to accommodate a confined, urban space and respect its nearby residential neighborhoods.
RSC Architects delivered a uniquely-efficient facility with a 4,050 s.f., three-bay truck garage; a 740 s.f. office; a two-tank fueling island; a 1,920 s.f. salt storage shed; and an eight-bay covered recycling area. A precast concrete perimeter fence tastefully disguises the facility from surrounding residences, and its design plans consider the facility’s sensitive location while meeting the Department of Environmental Protection’s rules and regulations.
