This state-of-the-art training and educational facility within Paramus, New Jersey, meets the diverse needs of Bergen County’s middle school, high school, and adult autistic populations.
Each program within the facility is physically separate from the others, but are all joined by a common lobby and entrance. From a design standpoint, each program has its own identifiable character that represents its category of instruction, with shared activity spaces that enhance security, durability, and wayfinding. Separate bus drop-off stations, canopies, a District data center, and a parking garage have also been incorporated within the design.
The District’s Board of Education offices are accommodated within a separate three-story wing, which includes the Superintendent’s office; the business office; human resources; the Bergen County Special Services CAPE Resource Center; the Educational Enterprises Division, which provides services to students within their local school districts; and the District’s Board of Education meeting room.
