Nearly sixty years after the Overpeck County Park was promised to the residents of Bergen County, RSC Architects expertly designed four new park facilities as a part of an expansive open space project.

After an extensive environmental clean-up of this regional landfill, more than 150 acres of former swamps and dumping grounds were transformed into an idyllic park space with playgrounds, pedestrian and bicycle trails, athletic fields, boat launches, an amphitheater stage, and other recreational amenities. These buildings, which also include a maintenance garage, concessions, and toilet buildings, exude a style that is reminiscent of the American Prairie movement, with exposed wooden trusses and hipped slate shingle roofs constructed of masonry and stone.
