Recognizing the need for a new firefighting outpost that could serve the newly-developed Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor, a mixed-use waterfront community of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, the City commissioned RSC to create a facility that could meet this rising demand.

Built using a FEMA grant, the 11,000 s.f., three-bay masonry South Harbor Fire Station was constructed on a newly-created lot on the peninsula, and its design complements the aesthetic style of the other new structures within the area. Additional features include full bathrooms, reception and office areas, living and sleeping quarters, a kitchen, a dining area, and laundry and exercise areas.
