RSC’s renovations to the existing Martin Luther King, Jr., Media Center met Essex County College’s goal of providing students with a state-of-the-art information commons that offers a serene atmosphere within an urban setting and serves as a focal point for their Newark campus.

Essex County College’s existing, 18,000 s.f. media center was completely renovated to include 140 computer work stations, six classrooms, casual seating areas, breakout rooms, information kiosks, and new toilet rooms. The space was also outfitted with a living wall, a water feature wall, LED lighting, glass partition walls, and the latest in furniture design to reinforce a calm and peaceful setting, while still providing open spaces for collaboration.
