Bergenfield, NJ – May 4, 2022 – RSC Architects attended a celebratory groundbreaking alongside municipal, police, Borough, and administrative staff for the construction of Bergenfield’s new, three-story, 30,000 s.f. police and municipal building.
Police functions will be situated on the facility’s lower level, with municipal offices on the second level, and courtroom and administration spaces on the third level. A three-story lobby with an open stair will organize the internal space and bring light into the building.
New expanded parking and landscaping will be incorporated into the site, with a prominent and ceremonial frontage on the main street for civic functions, and a more discreet frontage on a side street for police access and a sallyport.
The new Bergenfield Municipal Complex is expected to be completed by August of 2023, with the demolition of the existing building beginning soon after.
