New Mercer Park Pavilion Celebrated for Contemporary Design and Historic Charm at Hudson County Groundbreaking Ceremony

Hudson County, NJ – January 13, 2026 – RSC Architects recently joined Hudson County officials and community members to break ground on the new Mercer Park Pavilion – a space designed with people, history, and connection at its heart.

Set along the former path of the Morris Canal at the Bayonne-Jersey City border, the pavilion draws inspiration from the site’s rich past, while offering modern-day amenities for guests.

The Mercer Park Pavilion is made up of two distinct structures – a 5,000 s.f. main building and a 520 s.f. detached storage area. A multi-purpose room within the heart of the main building seamlessly connects to the pavilion’s outdoor courtyard, making it an ideal setting for public or private events. A concessions stand and a warming kitchen are also located nearby to serve park visitors, with public bathrooms and administrative offices rounding out the facility.

From public events to everyday park trips, this new facility will serve as a welcoming environment for visitors to gather, celebrate, and connect.
