John P. Capazzi, AIA, President has been providing leadership to RSC Architects for more than 30 years. John’s extensive experience in planning and design for both public and private clients has resulted in the firm’s continued success and acclaim. John is a registered architect, with licenses in nine states, as well as a registered planner in New Jersey. In addition to guiding the firm, he serves as chairman of the Harrington Park Planning Board, is a member of New Jersey’s Institute of Technology Dean’s Council, and is past president of the Lions Club. John is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, New Jersey Society of Architects, Architects League of Northern New Jersey, New Jersey Schools Board Association, New Jersey Library Association, The Council of Educational Facility Planners, and Urban Land Institute.

sbotbylSteve Botbyl, Associate, has more than 30 years of experience in architecture and construction. Steve’s past experience includes project administration through bidding, construction administration, and post-occupancy. Steve manages the architectural staff and their respective teams, as well as the construction administration department. In addition, he oversees quality assurance and quality control, budget control, and adherence to scheduling to ensure client satisfaction for all of our projects. Steve is a member of the Healthcare Facilities Management Society of New Jersey and the American Society of Healthcare Engineers.

kmihalikKenneth P. Mihalik, AIA, LEED® AP, Senior Project Manager, has more than 28 years of experience in the design/build industry. Ken is skilled in construction documentation and specifications, as well as construction administration for various types of public and private facilities. In addition to experience in new construction, he possesses an extensive background in working with existing facilities. His organizational skills, creative thinking, and decision-making skills make him an indispensable part of any project he is heading. A LEED-accredited professional by the US Green Building Council, Ken is on the Board of Trustees of the Architects League of Northern New Jersey, and a member of both the American Institute of Architects and his hometown planning board

jschlechtJeffrey Schlecht, AIA, Senior Project Manager, has more than 21 years of architectural experience. Jeff’s experience encompasses the planning, design, and construction for both public and private projects, including libraries, educational institutions, and private sector projects. Jeff serves as the single point of contact for the design team, and as team leader, he is responsible for the overall implementation of the project. Through his consultative approach, he works with our clients to establish, prioritize, and develop each of the major components of a project and guide them through the entire process. His creative flair, eye for detail, and innate ability to multi-task make him an intense design team leader and an essential member of RSC Architects. Jeff is a board trustee for Glen Rock Public Library and a member of the American Institute of Architects.

pavallonePasquale Avallone, LEED® AP, Healthcare Manager, brings more than 17 years of experience to RSC Architects, working with owners, contractors, and consultants in facilitating both public and private projects. Pat manages RSC’s healthcare team and assumes primary responsibility for planning, design, and coordinating project activities throughout the entire project life cycle, from initiation through construction. Pat is a trusted resource and an asset to the RSC team who is relied upon for his technical and communication skills, efficiency, and strong client relationships.

Ralph Ralph Walker, RA, LEED AP, CSI, CDT, Senior Project Manager, is an award winning architect with over 19 years of experience.  Ralph has worked on diverse projects for commercial and institutional clients and has extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary teams for projects ranging from restaurants to offices to schools, both new construction and renovations.  He has a particular expertise in the design of educational facilities and sustainable design.  At RSC, Ralph manages both commercial and institutional projects from feasibility through construction administration and brings a creative and collaborative approach to every project. Ralph is an active member of the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International, Construction Specifiers Institute and the US Green Building Council.
